In general, we can power wash the exterior of your home in 1-3 hours. Many factors come into play, however, that affect the length of time we’re on the job. Regardless of how long it takes, you’ll only pay the amount on the quote you were provided. Some jobs take longer than others, but that’s for us to worry about! Pre-Wash Evaluation
Upon arriving at your home, we will take a walk around the property to look for any problem-areas. Problem areas can include excessive organic growth (algae, lichen, green ‘stuff’), oxidation (chalky residue on siding or trim), pre-existing damage, or even open windows! Our technicians will evaluate the age, composition and make-up of your siding/trim. Old aluminum siding needs to be cleaned differently than newer vinyl and painted wood siding is handled differently than if it were stained. While we are examining your home to determine the best approach, we will be connecting our pressure-washing system to your home water supply. Please be ready to point-out a working exterior water spigot; we will use our own hoses to make the connection.
Property Protection
Every home and landscape is different, so our approach to protecting your property will vary. We will always pre-soak your home, windows and surrounding landscape to prevent ‘flashing’ on hot days. Some plants may require additional protection such as plastic sheeting or an application of a cleaning-agent neutralizer. Exposed electrical sockets will be closed and anything plugged-in will be disconnected.
The Cleaning Process
The amount of time needed to wash your home’s exterior is often less than the time it takes us to prepare, inspect, protect and clean-up! We’ve invested in top-of-the-line equipment which makes the cleaning portion of the job very quick and efficient. We have buffer-tanks in our truck to keep up with the high-water-demand of our pressure washers. We use soap injectors to quickly apply cleaning agents to the home without the need for additional equipment. Our surface cleaners use almost 10 gallons of water per minute which allows us to move very quickly. Rinsing your siding with the same 10 gallon per minute machine gets the job done fast! The size of our machinery doesn’t necessarily affect the end-result. Instead, it allows us to move swiftly and safely and keep our prices competitive.
The Clean Up
Once we’re done with the exterior cleaning, we’ll ask you to walk around the property with us. Before we stow-away our equipment, we want to make sure you’re satisfied! Our trucks are designed in such a way that clean-up is rather quick – we reel-in a few hundred feet of hose, replace our hand tools, and we’re ready to go! Our machines all stay in the truck during the cleaning process.
